The MeVIDEO GlobeTrotter makes it easier to take a video tripod and monopod when you travel. This reverse folding tripod features anodized aluminum with brushed metal edging. Its available in black and titanium finishes and you have your choice of aluminum or carbon fiber legs. The fluid like head supports 8.8 lb or 4 kg. You have two main controls on this head. Pan lock and tilt control. Next to the pan lock we have a bubble level so you can make sure you're level before your shot. The tilt control is a nice oversized lock knob, which can provide some drag for heavier rigs. The pan arm can be removed and mounted on the other side. The quick release plate is compatible with Manfrotto 500 or 502 heads and Benro S4 up to S8 heads. All of the individual knobs feature brushed edging. If you lock the pan lock and turn the head counterclockwise you can easily remove it. You can mount other accessories on the tripod such as a small camera slider. The head has a 3/8" threading and can be mounted on other products as well. This also makes for more convenient travel with rolling cases. The tripod fits easily inside large rolling cases. We recommend removing the pan arm before packing. One of the most unique things about this tripod is in its center column. Its pretty much what makes this type of tripod possible. You can raise or lower the center column for height adjustment as you would with any center column. But since it has the leveling adapter at the top of the column you don't have to adjust each leg to level the tripod. When you unthread the weight hook you'll notice the column splits near the top, which gives us a short column. This allows for low to the ground shots without having to bring a separate accessory. This is also how we get our monopod conversion. The leg with the rubber grip unthreads from the tripod and joins the center column for your full size monopod. The tripod itself has rubber twist locks, which are comfortable to use and only require a half turn to unlock. They can also be completely removed for a deep cleaning.
