Overview
The Godox BG02 Battery Grip expands the capability of select Godox portable LED lights, especially the ML100Bi and ML100R, by combining a comfortable handheld grip with a fully integrated power system. Its high-capacity 95 Wh battery not only keeps compact LED lights operational on outdoor shoots but allows users to remain completely mobile without needing wall power. This is especially useful when filming interviews, behind-the-scenes content, live event coverage, and remote location work where AC outlets may not exist.
Ergonomics are a major advantage, with a tilting light interface up to 160 degrees. Operators can reposition the light angle quickly while maintaining a low-profile footprint. Power indicators give real-time feedback on charge status, allowing shooters to track runtime and plan battery swaps more confidently during longer production days.
The BG02 supports both USB-C and D-Tap power outputs, enabling compatibility with additional small LED fixtures and accessories. Mounting versatility is provided through multiple 1/4"-20 points and an included adapter that allows connection to light stands, clamps, and grip hardware.
Runtime varies depending on fixture, but B&H lists approximately 50 minutes of use for ML100-series lights and as high as 90 minutes for smaller LED units. For run-and-gun video creators needing a quick lighting boost, this runtime provides a meaningful extension of portable lighting performance without adding complex external battery systems.
With compact dimensions and a relatively lightweight design, the BG02 is well suited to travel kits and handheld workflows. For users already invested in Godox portable LEDs, the BG02 represents a practical upgrade transforming small studio-oriented lights into flexible, location-ready systems with extended power and handheld control.
